What are “Fat Bombs?”
Quite simply, they are an easy way to add more fat into your daily food intake. A little “snack” made of mostly fat.
Fat has been vilified in the US over the past 40-50 years. Instead, we have been told that carbohydrates are the most important macro-nutrient. During this time, we have had unprecedented rises in Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, and Heart Disease.
We are here to take fat back! Fat (meaning real fats – not trans fat) is important for brain health, for skin health, for blood sugar control, and for WEIGHT control. Because we see so many people who don’t know how to eat fat, we often recommend “fat bombs” you can make at home.
Other GOOD sources of fat are:
- Avocado (eat 1/2 to 1 whole avocado every day!)
- Olive Oil
- Avocado Oil
- Coconut Butter (or Coconut Manna)
Fats to steer AWAY from – because they are highly inflammatory
- Vegetable Oil
- Corn Oil
- Most Seed Oils
- Hydrogenated Oils
- Trans Fats
